Remarks
In 1867, Corbett Avenue became the first roadway in San Francisco that was laid out to follow the contours of the hills. As the avenue meandered up the hill toward Twin Peaks homes were built to take advantage of the bay and hillside views. One of the homes was 232 Corbett Avenue, an Arts and Craft style home with its steep roof, dormer of windows and stucco exterior. Since the home was built it had changed very little but in 2014 and 2015 the current owner did an extensive remodel with the intent to maintain much of the original character and charm.
Upon entering the home you are greeted by hardwood floors, 10 foot high ceilings that are finished in a rich warm brown wood. A wood burning fireplace is the center piece of the living and dining areas. The remodeled open kitchen has floor to ceiling cabinets and top-of-the line appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen is an office space and half bath. Access to the rear flagstone patio is provided by way of 2 sets of sliding doors.
The upper level is the location of 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 new bathrooms as well as laundry facilities. The front bedroom offers views of the surrounding hills and the rear master suite has a walk-in closet and small deck that overlooks the rear yard. Both of the baths have radiant heat and skylights.
Additional remodeling upgrades include seismic updates, electrical, plumbing, on demand hot water, 2 new forced air furnaces, a new roof, new dual pane windows throughout as well as new interior and exterior paint. There is a one car garage with additional storage above the auto parking space.
The home is located a short distance to the Castro district with shops, restaurants, public transit and commuter buses to Silicon Valley
232 Corbett Avenue is ready for a new owner.
